John Wesley Satterfield, of Chapin, SC, has been writing and performing music professionally for 5 years now.  When he was 12, his father gave him his first guitar and began to teach him songs by the likes of Bob Dylan, Harry Chapin, The Beatles, Cat Stevens, and Paul Simon.  Following high school, a four year stint in the Coast Guard on the high seas of the North Atlantic gave John the life experiences that inspired him to begin writing songs of relative substance. After having his fill of harsh Maine winters, he moved to Wilmington, NC where he began to develop as a performer and songwriter with the bluegrass/punk/folk trio titled Woodwork Roadshow.  With Woodwork, John was afforded the opportunity to open shows for acts such as Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Leann Rimes, Nickel Creek, Robert Earl Keen, The Avett Brothers and more.

These days, while attending the University of South Carolina, John has teamed up with an A-list group of musicians in Columbia, SC that includes Herbie Jeffcoat on the electrified guitar, Reggie Sullivan on the upright bass, and Clyde Frazier III on the drums.  New music has just been recorded with Grammy Award winning musician, Mark Bryan, of Hootie and the Blowfish and Jay Clifford of Jump Little Children (both of which John has been a long time fan). This 5 song EP is avail now on iTunes!!!!
